Our goal is to provide children with a dental experience that is pleasant and rewarding. This is important to us, as we believe that their early childhood experiences at the dentist will shape their future attitude towards their oral health. We take the time to show them that coming to the dentist regularly will establish a good oral health foundation. This dispels anxiety so that they can enjoy great dental experiences at every check-up.

Our staff are well-trained to be sensitive to children’s needs and requirements. To make their visit more enjoyable, we have aids such as  kid’s movies and tv shows, stickers and puppets.

We actively check and monitor the development of your child’s teeth, educate on oral hygiene, discuss any adverse dietary habits on the teeth, detect and restore any problem areas and assess and monitor for any alignment issues in your child’s growing dentition.

 

Medicare Child Dental Benefits

The Australian Government has this year introduced a new dental scheme for children to replace the outgoing Medicare Teen Dental Plan.  The new scheme is now called Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule. With this new scheme, eligable children aged between 2-17 will have available to them $1000 in benefits for basic dental services. This $1000 is available over a 2 calendar year period. Services that receive a benefit under the program include examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals, extractions and partial dentures.

A child’s eligibility for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule is assessed by the Department of Human Services. A child is eligible if they are aged between 2 – 17 years at any point in the calendar year and receive a relevant Australian government payment, such as Family Tax Benefit Part A, at any point in the calendar year.

At My Dentist at Cannon Hill we will be BULK BILLING all eligable children under the new scheme.  This means there will be no out of pocket expenses for basic dental services for your child.
